Welcome to YourCheapHost - What to Do After Signing Up Print

You're In - Now What?

Thanks for signing up with YourCheapHost! Your hosting account is being set up, and within a few minutes you'll get a welcome email with everything you need to get started. Here's what to look for and what to do first.

1. Check Your Welcome Email

After you signed up, we sent a welcome email to the address you used during checkout. It contains:

  • Your cPanel login URL (looks like https://yourcheaphost.com:2083 or a direct IP)
  • Your cPanel username and password (or a temporary password you'll be asked to change)
  • Your nameservers - you'll need these to point your domain to us

Didn't get the email? Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's not there, open a support ticket and we'll resend it.

2. Log Into cPanel

Open the cPanel URL from your welcome email. Enter your username and password. First time logging in? You'll probably be prompted to set a new password - pick something strong and save it somewhere safe.

Once you're in, you'll see the cPanel dashboard. That's your control panel for everything: files, databases, email, domains, the works.

3. Point Your Domain to Us

If you bought your domain from us, it's already pointed - nothing to do. If you registered your domain somewhere else (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), you need to update the nameservers at your registrar to the ones listed in your welcome email.

It usually looks like:

  • ns8.yourcheaphost.com
  • ns10.yourcheaphost.com

DNS changes can take a few hours to spread worldwide, so don't panic if your site doesn't load right away.

4. Upload Your Site or Install a CMS

Got a website ready? Upload it via FTP or the cPanel File Manager (see article 57 for the step-by-step). Want to use WordPress, Joomla, or another CMS? Look for Softaculous or Installatron in the cPanel Software section - one-click install, no technical skills needed.

5. Set Up Your Email

Create email accounts under the Email section in cPanel. Want something like [email protected]? That's where you set it up. We cover this in article 57 too.

6. Bookmark the Client Area

Your cPanel is for managing your hosting. But your Client Area (billing.yourcheaphost.com) is where you handle invoices, update your contact info, open support tickets, and check your account. Keep both bookmarked.

That's it - you're live! Need help? Open a ticket from your client area. We're here.
