Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in cPanel Print

  • 0

Two-Factor Authentication adds a second layer of security to your cPanel account. Even if someone gets your password, they cannot log in without the second code.

Set Up 2FA in cPanel

  1. Log into your cPanel account.
  2. In the Preferences section, click Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Install an authenticator app on your phone if you have not yet:
    • Google Authenticator (Android / iOS)
    • Microsoft Authenticator
    • Authy (works across devices)
  5. Scan the QR code on screen with your authenticator app.
  6. Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm the setup.
  7. Click Confirm.

Important

  • Write down or print the backup codes you get during setup. Keep them in a safe place.
  • If you lose access to your authenticator app, you will need those backup codes to get back in.
  • If you lose both your phone and the backup codes, contact support to have 2FA disabled. We will need to verify your identity first.
