Create a Backup in cPanel

  1. Log into cPanel and go to Backups in the Files section.
  2. Under Full Backup, click Download or Generate a Full Website Backup.
  3. Choose the backup type:
    • Home Directory - your website files.
    • MySQL Databases - your database(s).
    • Full Backup - everything.
  4. Enter your email to get notified when the backup is ready.
  5. Click Generate Backup.

Restore from a Backup

  1. Go to Backups in cPanel.
  2. Under Restore a Home Directory Backup, click Choose File and upload your backup file.
  3. For databases, use the Restore a MySQL Database Backup section.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish the restoration.

Tip: Download a backup to your computer regularly. We also run server-level backups, but keeping your own copy is a good idea.
